Im bored- and in one of those very long layovers (4 hours) in Atlanta, Georgia on an Airtran connection. Soo- I want to take this time to kill time with some airport ratings in the US and Canada. These are ones I have been to- ill add to as I go. You can feel free to put in your input as well if you so choose. 1-5 (5 is best).
Atlanta- Home to Airtran and Delta. I like the layout with the train system underground, but to be honest they need more pictures and stuff on the bland walls. Very ugly place, gloomy. I give it 3 stars of 5
Charlotte- My home airport and home to US Airways. I really like the upgrades. Parking is much easier with the new decks they added- the one *beep* I had. Well laid out, security is quick, and shopping is superb! 5 of 5 starts- the BEST airport I have been in. But Yea, you pay for that nicey nicey too if your a Charlotte resident. If your connecting- more power to you. Could use free internet though.
Detroit- Home to northwest, Pretty nice airport. Clean. The tram system is good in the new terminal (Macnamara or something spelled close to that lol). I havent been in the older terminals though. I just LOVE the lighted tunnel- replica of the wall of lights in Vegas. 4 of 5.
Minneapolis- Also home to Northwest. Pretty drab again. Laid out rather wierd too. 3 of 5.
Louisville- well security is quick. Its small, and laid out decent. I HATE not having food inside the terminal though. Parking is a rip off though- something like 8 bucks a day for economy- and thats always full. 4 of 5.
Indianapolis- well its ugly. Security is quick however, so that makes up. Food is also hard to come by past security. Boring place and parking is a bit far away. 3.5 of 5
Lansing, MI- small airport, not much to really say about it. Gets the job done. 4 of 5
Grand Rapids, MI- been a while since ive been here so yea 4 of 5 based on what I remember.
Chicago ORD- well besides the fact that you walk a billion miles to your gate- its not bad for a huge airport. Mind you- avoid at all costs if there are delays in the US! 4 of 5
LAX- see above. 4 of 5 |
