i am currently studying at San Jacinto College (North) Houston,Texas

and this is my first year in college

so i was wondering if im eligible to purchase a ticket?

I work for StudentUniverse, and would also like to throw in a comment.
While an .edu can make the process go smoother, if you need to register with a non-edu email address, that is not a problem.

ok let say i bought a ticket here to go to Sanfrancisco from houston texas

what are the requirements or what are the things that they would ask me(in the airport) to make sure that they know that i am a currently a student?

They dont ask any questions at the airport- once you purchase a ticket here, you have the same thing every other passenger has, thus they wont even know if your a student or not (nor will they care haha!)

Kristina, they dont ask or care if you are a student at the airport, even with a student universe ticket. They will just need your drivers license for id and your ticket confirmation number or check-in ticket.

yeh as long as you have a student email address you will be fine. SU is pretty strict on that stance.
