Being a relatively poor country you can be fooled into thinking that eveything will be dirt cheap. Surprisingly though, goods you'd buy at the supermarket are generally the equivalent of what you pay in the western world (I'm from Australia), with the exception of bread which is as cheap as anything!
Housing on the otherhand, I believe is much cheaper than what you're used to...while living in Chile, I calculated that approximately what you'd pay for one weeks rent back home is what you paid for a month's worth of rent in Chile. Valparaiso is beautiful, near Vina del Mar, definetly a hot spot for tourists...a very lively area. I hope you enjoy the chilean culture every bit as much as I did while I was there..can't wait to return!! Have Fun |
