My bf and I will traveling around western Europe for 15 days at Thanksgiving. I've determined our most affordable way to travel is to get the Eurail Global Saver pass - consecutive 15 days (was actually cheaper than the 10 days for 2 months pass).
Unfortunately, I am unable to find specific trains that are covered and want to make sure I understand what I will need extra tickets for.
Fly to Amsterdam - is the train from the airport to the nearest station to our hotel covered? I realize we will need to buy tram tickets as these are not covered for getting around town for the 2 days we are there.
Train to Paris - this is covered. We will have to purchase tickets in order to ride the Metro. Day trips to Reims / Versailles / Epernay are covered.
Train to Spiez, Switzerland - this is covered. Are the trains covered here as we travel to/from Thun, Lauterbrunnen (sp), Wegen, Interlaken? We are not planning to take the Golden Pass and I realize that the Jungfrau trip is only discounted. Bus pass will be extra.
Train to Frankfurt and other areas in Germany - this is completely covered - buses are not.
Am I on the right path? Please help as this has been a source of confusion for a while! Thanks!!! |
