Hi,
I am just trying to determine if the following situation counts as one day of travel or two on my eurail pass. I am leaving Brussels at 16:30 arriving Frankfurt at 20:00 the leaving Frankfurt for Prague at 23:00 on a night train. Now all this travel occurs within one day (24 hrs)...but is this still two days of travel. What bothers me, is it seems that my trip to Prague is two days, while my trip back is only one day, even though they both occur within a 24 hour period. I am gonna cancel it if it is not just one day.
Also, if this information helps, my pass covers only germany so I had to pay the fee from the border to prague. But I believe we only paid the reservation fee on the night train as it was only 26 euros each way. So it seems the eurail pass was used for the night train as well. And according to the wording of the day rule, this seems to be two days.
Thanks for any help! |

| From how I understand it, you trip will count as two days. Your trip from Frankfurt to Prague will count under the 7 pm rule for overnight trains, where travel will count towards the following day. Your trip from Brussels to Frankfurt will count as one day also. There is no way around it. If you were able to take a night train (after 7 pm) from Brussels to Frankfurt and a day train (any time before 7 pm) to Prague, it would only count as one day. |

| Yes this will be 2 days- sorry see the previous post as to a way around it- if there is a night train from Brussels to Frankfort night train leaving after 7pm and a day train say at 7am the rest of the way, you would then only need 1 day. Or if there are no night trains- consider staying in getting a 7pm train to Frankfort, and stayin in Frankfort for the night, then continuing on a day train the rest of the way. |
