Can anyone share their favorite European city/experience? Something that you'd recommend to others for the April-July timeframe?? Something that is a must-see??
Thanks. |

memphis creek, I'm from Michigan too, just so you don't think I'm a weirdo it said that you were from Michigan. This past summer I was in Lyon, France. Its the second largest city in France and it was spectacular. I loved every minute of it. The great bars, the great shopping, and the incredible atmosphere was priceless. Definitly do the Pomplona thing too, I have a message posted about that so that was probably my best experience. Switzerland, Geneva specifically, Geneva lake is so clean and the mountains on a clear day overlooking the lake and city was breathtaking. So, hit those spots up, I dont know exactly where you are hoping to go, but those were my favorite spots, and of course Paris, but everyone knows that. Peace,
paul. |

Paul,
Thanks a lot. I'll definitely try to hit those spots up. Switzerland is pretty close to where we're staying so I'm sure we can make it there on a weekend. Pomplona would be amazing too.
Thanks again,
Nick |

| Edinburgh, Scotland is a great place in the summer. It is the second biggest city in Scotland and the people there are really cool. There is the Royal Mile with Edinburgh castle as the main attraction. There are tons of bars and pubs and a few nightclubs. The city is student friendly, with discount for students at bars. The Prince Street area is a great place to shop. And the park on Prince Street is a great place to people watch and relax on a sunny day. |

Well my favorite city when I was over there was Prague in the Czech Republic. It was absolutely beautiful and extremely old buildings and winding streets. Plus its very cheap too, you spend about half of what you would spend in Western Europe. When I was over there I really wished I would of spent more time in the small cities and less time in the major Meccas like Paris and London. Maybe it just depends on your personality, but to me the culture and experiences in the smaller lesser known towns where way better than strolling around the larger cities that were less personal and unique. The only other advice I would give is to be open while over there to explore places you didn't plan, its never a good idea to have every minute mapped out ahead of time. Just have a general sense of what you want to do because amazing experiences happen that you could never plan for and are memories you will never forget. _________________ Wander aimlessly. |

I stayed in England for 3 months and learned the best places were the ones off he beaten path. If you get into England hit down south twords Canterbury and Dover. Wonderful smaller towns and if you are a history buff full of history. Canterbury was the sight of the murder of Arch Bishop Beckett and Dover has war tunnels that date back to Napolean. There is also Bath and some other really cute small towns.
Also hit up the big cities. London and Paris are easily done in a day each. Some of the bigger cities like Rome and such need a few more.
Have a wonderful time! |

| I stayed in Germany for 3 weeks as an exchange student. The Alps...if you get the chance...see the Alps. What a blessing! |
