Hello everyone,
I'm planning on going to Cambodia during my winter break in january, but all the flights I've looked at are in the thousands range. Anyone knows of what I can do for a more affordable flight?
Thanks a bunch.

Well there really isnt anything you can do. Thats what they cost to go there. (Im not just saying that- they really do cost around 1500 bucks) But keep trying, sometimes the airlines post deals on there websites. Sign up for travelzoos top 25. Check dates in the middle of the week. Try other airports around you that are bigger. Same with in Cambodia. Otherwise try to go in the off season where prices may run around 1000 (winter). Hope that helps a little.
Post your details of flights needed and I will see what I can find for prices- I know where to look for the best deals. |

The best prices you will find will be leaving on a Monday out of a major airport. I am west coast so I fly SanFran or LA and usually find the cheapest prices with EVA airways or ANA (All Nippon Airways). Northwest airlines has a very comfortable flight from San Fran that is usually around $1100. OH---- keep in mind this is going to Bangkok (BKK)... From there try to catch a flight with AIRASIA.com as they are usually very cheap (about $25 from BKK to Northern Thailand), so I imagine Cambodia wouldn't be too expensive from there. The website for air asia might have prices listed in Thai Baht , but the conversion is easy (its about $25 = 1000 baht) The road from Thailand to Anghkor Wat is really bad and takes about 12 hours (no matter how many times they tell you its only six) so there are a few airlines to Cambodia. Average price is probably going to be more like $125 though. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions...
P.S.
Cambodia is tough for many people if you don't have a hardened heart or a lot of traveling experience... Worst case scenario---- Leave and go to Northern Laos or Northern Thailand.... Both are amazing and fun with very helpful people...
Sincerely,

Dear friend,
Evia Air is about the cheapest flight to Cambodia.
I think if you can try to check the direct flight from US - Tapei - Cambodia(Phnom Penh). From Phnom Penh, you can go to Siem Reap by:
1. Boat : 23USD takes 6 hours
2. Good bus : 10USD takes 6 hours.
3. Flights : 70USD takes 45 minutes.
My experience told me that direct flight can be cheaper.
Well, I experienced that Cambodian people is the most friendly and believable in Southest Asia.
You can find some source as belows:
1. E-Visa : [link]
2. Hotels in Siem Reap : [link]
3. Hotels in Phnom Penh :

Best Regards,
