Israel is a particular place on earth - a lot of security issues with people being killed every day.

Israel is a secular country but with a lot of influence of religious fundamentalists and display of religious rituals. I am not sure how would I feel about it if I had to live there.

i actually just got back from israel and it was amazing. regardless of what people may think it's very safe.
if you're planning on going you have to see the negev (rocky desert)
and of course see jeruselum. the best shopping can be done in tel aviv.
i also reccomend you see tsvat, it'a a very beautiful small town where you can be really nice trinkets. but you must climb the masada, the view is breathtaking. and if you're lucky to have good weather the dead sea is fun.

hope this helps u; if you have more questions feel free to ask.

Hey Lika. thanks for the info. I will be touring for two weeks so hopefully I will see some of those places. Do you know anything about transportation? Were there many tourists? I’ve heard the weather is usually warm. How was it when you went?

Hi, actually I am from that area. It's a beautiful area and I am sure you would love it but be careful from wash brain. Isreal is the very safe but the media is always trying to show it's not safe. It would be very interesting to go and visit the palestinian cities and know the truth how these palestinian are living and how the regulation on movement and check points. It is very exciting to try to move from Jerusalem to Ramallah and count how many check points are there. One Advice is that if what to buy something from the old city in Jerusalem always make sure to buy it with 50% discount or more than what they asked. Have a fun trip.

Israel was one of the best trips I have ever taken. The people surprisingly are so warm and welcoming. Although you can feel some tension, I did not experience any violence while in the country. The security is reasonable and no more intense than US airports. I was actually left wondering if there was any violence at all. Tel Aviv is a great modern city. The night life is amazing with beautiful beaches (and girls) during the day. I was so exited to find that I could rent a surf board for the day and surf the Mediterranean. Jerusalem is a spectacular ancient city with modern luxuries. I could see the wall of the old city from my hotel room. A walk through the old city is a must. Bargain with merchants in both the Jewish quarter and also the Arab quarter; don’t be scared. It’s a trip. The closest thing I can think of is the cartoon movie Aladdin. With so many places to visit and things to see, I could have spent a month touring the country. If you have ever thought of visiting Israel, just do it. You won’t regret it . If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.
