I am going to Italy next month; but before I get there I have to switch airports in London: From Heathrow to Gatwick. I have about 3 1/2 hours between flights and I am just a little nervous about not catching the connecting flight. It's my first trip abroad so I was just wondering if anyone has any light to shed on this to put me at ease. Is this kind of thing common? |

Three and a half hours is just enough time to transfer between the airports...you should be just fine. There are several options. You can take a bus, a train, or a taxi. Check the fares and schedules for the bus and train. The trains in England are somewhat unreliable - they can be late or cancelled often because of "network difficulties" or an "accident on the line." Be efficient and do your research ahead of time. The airport sites should have all the information you need. This sort of thing is very common so no worries! Good luck! _________________

| When I was in London last year, my friend travelled from Heathrow to Gatwick. It took her about 1h 30min. I think she rode on National Express. I think it costed her over 10 pounds. I hope this helps you. |

The best way that I have found to get back and forth between the airports is the National Express buses. They run pretty often, about every 40 minutes I do believe. Also, if you have traveled on a Brithish Airways flight, you get a discount on the bus!

Hi.
There are some airport shuttle companies that you can book and agree a price with before the trip so you know that the price won't change and that you have transport arranged. I've used Harmony Cars before and their chauffeurs have managed to get me to the airport with more than enough time to spare.
Here's their website: [link] _________________ | |
