Thanks so much Wilson for helping out!
I'm interested in going to Rome with two friends over winter break. We were trying to find the cheapest tickets so we thought we could fly from D.C/Baltimore to London first and spend like 3 days there, and then take a cheap ticket over to Rome.
So far, we've found ~$1800 roundtrip for the 3 of us to and from London using Iceland Air and about ~$540 from London to Rome (roundtrip using easyjet).
We'd like to fly to Europe on December 22nd-23rd, and come back to D.C. around Jan. 6-8th.
Can something cheaper be found?
Thank you so much again!! |

Hello,
I am new to this forum, and new to European travel in general. Thank you so much for offering to help find inexpensive airfare; I think you will have fun with my unique circumstances and with my flexibility. Finding low airfare just seems rather a maze to a newbie like me.
Here are my travel criteria:
-I can leave no sooner than December 20th.
-I can return no later than Jan 18th.
-I prefer to depart and return from St. Louis, but I am okay with Chicago (or Kansas City for that matter) if it can save me over one hundred dollars.
-I'd like to spend approx. 2.5 weeks in Europe (preferably INCLUDING xmas)
-Long layovers and smaller carriers are entirely acceptable.
-Just get me to continental Europe on the cheap! I hardly care where. Nearly everywhere in continental Europe is on the Eurail network which is what I plan to use.
Thanks,
Jason |

Thanks for doing this! I imagine you're swamped with requests, but I might as well submit mine, too.
Four of us want to go to Europe during Christmas break. We figure if we can make it to the Continent for less than $450, we'll survive from there. We can fly open-jaw/multi-city, too, if that would be better.
Dates: anytime 14dec through 8jan, but we'd prefer to be in the US for Christmas (we can leave Christmas afternoon, though, if we need to)
Cities: DFW, Tulsa, or XNA (Fayetteville, AR) would be best, but Kansas City would work, too. We don't care where we land in Europe!
Flexibility: We want to be there for at least a week. Beyond that, anything goes.
Time of Flight: Any time of day is fine, unless we leave on Christmas, and then we'd prefer an afternoon or evening departure.
Preferred airline: I don't really like NWA, but I'd be willing to sacrifice if it was cheap.
Non-stop or connections: Either is fine.
Student: All four are students.
Layover: No problem.
Thanks so much! |

Departure: Dec 14 (no earlier than, closer to = better) -19
Return: Jan 10 - 14(no later than, closer to = better)
Departure city: Charlotte NC (closest), Atlanta GA, Knoxville TN
Flexibility: Very flexible. I'd sacrifice my shoes if it would make a difference
Time of flights: doesn't matter
Preferred airline carrier: nope
Non-stop/connection: would prefer a direct flight but i'm not picky (won't pay extra unless it's a neglegable amount)
Student Status: I am a full-time student.
Layovers: doesn't make a bit of difference.
All that matters is that I get over there, once I'm there I can get to a big city then take easyjet/ryanair to wherever I want to go. Unfortunately this isn't a search option on any sites I've seen. I would hitchhike to europe if it were possible
thanks! _________________ EUROPE! |

First of all, this is wonderful, thank you. I'm looking to go with two friends to Europe ACAP (as cheap as possible). We're willing to fly anywhere and take trains across Europe. We are students, and we don't have any preferences, we'll do anything, as long as it's cheap. We're looking to spend under $1,000 for the whole trip. We want to go Jan 1 - Jan 15. Any leads as to cheap flights, cheap hostels, and cool things to do will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

WOW!!! ur one of a kind!... thank you so much for helping us all out find the best tickets...
I hope u at least get to use ur skills for urself too!!!!
I'm tryin to go to Paris to visit my father, this winter from Dec 19th (evening flight since I still have a final that morning ) to Jan 28th not too early(or 29th if its better).
I'd rather fly nonstop with United (so I can get the miles) from Washington DC, to Paris Charles de Gaulle.
So far, this place is the cheapest I've found for $889 ( w/date chages $861), but I'd like to find somethin cheaper because I am participating in a study abroad in Germany (the tuition is pretty steap )
so I also am looking for Paris- Frankfut (amMain .. i think it's the Int'l one, right) from Jan 2nd (to get there in the afternoon) to Jan 20th (late afternoon, early evening I think). Since United doesn't serve that destination, I'll go with Luftansa (I can get the miles from them too ) but whatever works is fine. So far it came up about $200 from cheaptickets or something like that.
Well I think that's about it... and it starting to make less sens to me everytime i read my message.. so I think I will leave it at that and wait for your questions
thank you so much again!!!
take care

Not to take anything away from wilson because what you're doing is awesome ... but I just wanted to get this message out to as many people as possible before the end of the month, so I figured I'd post it here too:
A flight to Cologne, Germany for $198 + taxes, which came to $265.80 TOTAL PRICE. This is a NON-STOP, ROUND TRIP flight. Now for the details ... from my understanding, this price is ONLY for the route between Newark, New Jersey (just outside of New York City) and Cologne, Germany with Continental Airlines (www.continental.com). My flight is booked departing EWR on December 28th and arriving back in Newark on January 9th. Other dates around that time are available, but flights must be booked by November 30th. With a price like this, I hope it helps SOMEBODY (besides me)! _________________ ~ Sean |

| hey you gave me a great deal the last time i used this forum and i think you can help me again this time. I need a flight under or around 400 pounds from London, England to RDU. THe time frame can go from as easy as dec. 19th and he has to leave by jan. 2 at the latest. We are flexible with times and red eyes ect. I was also wondering if these websites that promise you free airfare for joining ( one way airfare) are legitamite? I would gladly pay 40 dollars if it means i could get a free flight. Thank you so much again for your help! |

Dear Wilson,
Thank you so much for your kind offer to help. I'm a bit overwhelmed with this.
My son's girlfriend's parents are living in France for the next six months, and has offered both my son and GF to stay there for approx 6 weeks this summer.
They both graduate college on May 12th, and are looking to fly to London anytime soon after 5/12, and stay no longer then 6/30. They would like about 5 or 6 weeks there, or at least aver a month. They plan on flying in/out of London and take rails all over Europe, staying with the parents between trips. They can also fly into Paris, Barcelona, Marseille or northern Italy if better deals are found there. They will be staying in Aix-en-Provence, France.
They have asked me to assist them in finding a good fare. They can fly out of NYC or Newark. We can buy a cheap flight from Buffalo or Rochester to there. I suppose flying out of Toronto is also a possibility if it is cheaper. Ideally flying out of Rochester or Buffalo to somewhere to London would be best.
There dates are very flexible, as well as where they fly to. Any assistance would be much appreciated. I'd like to buy these tickets for them for Christmas.
Respectfully, Frank D. (Brian's Dad) |

Hi Wilson...thanks for the offer of help! The info you need is below.
-Dates needed: August 8, 2007 - August 24, 2007
-Cities you can fly out of or into (preferred city and ones you can go into/ out of if it is cheap): Newark, NJ (or NYC) to Amsterdam, Netherlands (or close)
-How flexible you are for all of the above (e.g. dates etc): relatively flexible
-Times of flights- (and how flexible those times are): flexible
-Preferred airline carrier: don't care
-Non-stop if possible or connections (and price you are willing to pay extra if non-stop): preferably non-stop, but whatever is cheaper
-Student status (if you are or not) : all students
-OK to layover in London then take a low cost carrier from London the rest of the way- e.g. Ryan Air etc.: only if cheaper
We need tickets for 4 people. Hope to hear from you soon... _________________ Engineers do it better |

Hey thanks for the help!
I have a wedding to go to on Santorini, Greece on 7 July. I plan on arriving on Santorini 5 July. However, I also want to take some time before that to explore Germany and some time after the wedding to visit London for a couple days at the end.
So...
Dates needed: 29 June 2007 - 13 July 2007
Cities: Chicago to Frankfurt (or whatever is the cheapest place to go that is close by Germany); London back to Chicago.
Flexibility: As close as possible to those dates
Times of Flights: not a big deal
Preferred airline: doesn't matter
Layovers are totally fine
Student
OK to layover in London then take a low cost carrier from London the rest of the way- e.g. Ryan Air etc. : Yes, cheaper is better |

| A buddy and I are planning on heading to any major European city and just start out there and travel for about a month this summer. Our finals week ends May 11 so the next week anytime to fly out of Fargo ND or Minneapolis MN and be back by the 18th of June is our plan. We just want whichever flight is cheapest, any city any time and day. Can you help us out with the best possible option for us. We dont even have to fly into and out of the same cities in Europe because we will probably be wherever then wind takes us. please help. |

Hey Wilson I think this is such a great thing your doing here. Myself and 2 or 3 friends are planning to backpack through europe after we graduate this spring and we are currently searching some airfare prices.
We have some flexiblity because nothing on the trip has been finalized yet. Departure date between June 13-20th We can fly out of Columbus, oh Cleveland ohio canton/akron ohio or new york. We'd perfer to fly into dublin, ireland. But if it will save more then 100$ we would fly into london.
Returning Date again is flexible between the 15th and 19th of July 2007 but we would like to fly out of Athens, Greece.
Layovers, connections, redeyes are all ok no problem with any of that. Any flight time or airline is fine. And we are all students! THank you So much for the help its really appreciated. |
