Dates: Leaving close to July 31st, returning close to August 15th

Can fly out of STL, nothing else is really close.
Need to get to southern france, MRS is preferred, but NCE would also work.
Something fairly close to MRS w/ train access.

Flexibility: +-2 days

Time: Anytime

Preferred airline: doesn't matter

Connections do not matter

Student status: I am a student

layovers/cheap airline switch is fine, as long as there is ample connect time.

and any help would be great, thanks.

Wow, Wilson, that's really nice of you.

I'm looking to travel to Europe sometime Between May 14 and 21, preferably to France (though London or Germany wouldn't be unreasonable). I'm looking to return sometime during the week of July 9.

I could depart from either Oakland or LAX, and return to either as well.

Carriers/layovers/flight times are not an issue. I'm a student and can deal with just about anything.

Thanks again, and looking forward to seeing if you can find better than what I have...

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time out to do this by the way.

I am looking for the cheapest one way ticket to los angeles from london. I am looking to leave anytime between july 1st thru july 10th. It doesn't matter what time the flight leaves or how many layovers it has. I just need the cheapest flight.

Thanks again

I spotted this a couple months ago and didn't believe someone would be so public-spirited as to actually help folks find good deals for airfare.

I'm trying to get to Scotland from Seattle to study the Gàidhlig musical traditions and language. Basically, I can barely afford the trip and every penny I can save is worth it. When deciding I'd seek tutelage this summer over there, I'd heard from everyone I know that travelled to Scotland (or any part of the U.K or Europe for that matter) that they paid $600-$800 round trip. Literally, $800 round trip during August to be at the Edinburgh festival!? I've never travelled out of my state before so this is huge for me but also completely new. Consequently, I'm assuming I'm missing a few tricks on travel and in great need of advise.

The cheapest prices I've ever found in the last couple of years have been US$1,208 during July (when I'd, unfortunately considering the peak season fares, need to attend for a specific class).

I'll stop rambling unless you indicate an interest in your reply. :)
Cutting to the chase, I need to be on the isle of Taransay in Scotland by July16th. Getting to the island from the mainland is taken care of as part of one of the classes, but I'd not want to get in Scotland after the 13th or so to insure I figure my way around in time and don't miss the boat. The main tuition would end on the 26th but there's a lot to learn there so I wouldn't be in a huge rush to get back. However, I've found the August airfares to spike the cost of a return ticket substantially so that's a big concern for me. Basically, while I must be at the class from the 15th to the 26th, I'm otherwise extremely flexible about time / date. If I leave August 15th and save $300 dollars, that would almost pay for my time there during that period and I'd get to stay in Scotland longer. I can't find good information to be able to make those decisions, otherwise I'm the type of person that does my own homework, so to speak.

Anyhoot, I hate begging, I appreciate your offering very much, and with that said, please HELP! I'll send postcards or something kind in return! (o:

Hi,

thanks so much for offering to do this.

I'm looking fro a flight from the Washington DC metro area to Sofia, Bulgaria. My dates are actually pretty flexible, but prefer to leave around 06/05 and return around 06/20. Length of stay should be 15-16 days.

Preferred airport is DCA, but this is not so important. Neither do I care about the airline, I'll take whatever is cheapest, but please no more than 2 stops. If the difference is like $30 I might take the non-stop option, but I don't think those cases occur.
I am currently a student.
And a layover in London is okay, but I figured that there are not so many low cost airlines that operate to Sofia.

the cheapest I've found so far is on this website, for $906. I have a promo code that takes off $15 if I buy it until today. Price rose at least $60 in the past week.

Do you think I can get anything cheaper? I already went through most popular websites...thanks again!

hi wilson, thanks so much for your help. i've been looking for tix for a while and just can't get any good deals Sad

i'm VERY flexible, but i have to travel in august. i can go for 2 - 3 weeks and leave on any date, although i'd prefer to leave around august 1-3. i don't care about times/connections/etc.

i want to travel out of any of the washington DC airports, NYC airports, RIC or PHI. i'd strongly prefer DC though unless the other ones are a lot cheaper. i am willing to travel into pretty much any major european city, so the destination is not important! london and paris are strongly preferred though Smile

thanks a million, please PM me or respond here if you find any good deals. i can't find anything below 850. Sad

Hi Wilson,

Your offer really sounds too good to be true, and I'm not sure whether it's still a valid one, but I would DEFinitely appreciate any kind of help!! Pretty please!

Dates: I need to be in Prague from June 23 (noon-ish) to June 30 (evening). No flexibility there. But for the trip overall, I was thinking June 20-July 4, but I am super flexible about those dates. Yes, I know I'm flying at peak season, which sucks, blame the conference organizers I guess...!

Cities: Fly out of PDX (preferred, but I can also drive up to SEA). Fly into ... ? anywhere in Europe! Probably London is the best bet so I can bounce around on RyanAir. But, Berlin or Frankfurt would be really convenient for renting a car to get to Prague (we think). Any of the main hubs for other cheap carriers in Europe would also be fine.

How flexible you are: Very flexible with the exception of the week I need to be in Prague.

Times of flights: I guess I'd prefer to land in Europe sometime in the middle of the day. But I'm really really flexible about that---especially if I'm landing in London, or Spain. And I'd prefer to spend as little time in an airport as possible (please please no 11 hour layovers in Newark...), but I guess everyone has that preference.

Preferred airline carrier:
This is the part that sucks. I *must* use a US carrier to fly from the US to Europe. No Air Canada, no Lufthansa, etc. Part of the restrictions of the scholarship that's paying my way to Prague. =( Once I'm in Europe, I can switch to the low-cost carriers.

Connections are fine. Given the choice, I would look for a single-stop flight *to* Europe with a long second leg so I can sleep a decent amount (i.e., PDX-SFO-LON would be prefereable to PDX-EWR-LON, but PDX-EWR-LON would be preferable to a connection in Chicago, etc.). Coming *back* to the US I care much less, I'd take a billion connections, since I can sleep it off at home. Plus, flying west is always easier. =)

Student status: Yep, I'm a student.

Definitely okay to layover in London & then take a low-cost carrier the rest of the way.

The best I've found recently is $1200 (incl taxes). Anything below that would be fabulous, and below $1000 would be an absolute MIRACLE!!!

Thank you so, so, so much!

[EDIT -- I meant June 20-July 4, oops! Thanks again!]

Dates: After June 11, 2007 till Before Aug 15, 2007, as long as possible. If it's a lot cheaper to do a few days less, I can do that for sure.

Out of: NYC
Into: London, Madrid, Rome, Berlin
Flexibility: Dates are flexible anywhere within the range, and I don't care at all about flight times
Preferred Airline: Cheapest available
Non-Stop: willing to pay extra
Student: Yes
Willing to layover in London? Absolutely!

Thanks so much for doing this!

Hi Wilson,
Thanks so much for the help. I've been having trouble finding websites for flights originating in Europe.
I am looking to leave from either Paris or London anytime after July 8th, potentially all the way up to July 30th flying into LAX or IAD. I want to return from either LAX, IAD, or NYC (depending on cost), if possible to Barcelona (although I could fly to London and get a flight from there) on August 13th-15th.
I have pretty flexible dates, and don't mind connections, although of course non-stop is preferred.
I am under 25, but soon to be not a student (ie not going to school next school year?)
Thanks so much if you can give me any help with this!!
