I spent the past 2 NYEs in Berlin. If you like big open-ended parties, Berlin has it ... over a million people in about a 1 mile stretch that goes from the Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column. They have stands all along the way w/ food, beer, more alcohol, champaign, candy, and a lot more. There are some tents along the way to keep a little warmer, but with that many people there, you're warming than the temperature indicates (usually around 30-35 at that time of year). They have a ferris wheel there (8 Euro for the ride), but pretty cool to get a good look of the monuments around the area while at the top. For more information on the event, known as Silvester in Berlin, visit this site: [link] _________________ ~ Sean |
