Nicaragua for Christmas and New Year

I plan to be in Managua, Nicaragua on December 24 , 2005 . I will arrive late at 9 p.m. evening. I do not know Nicaraguans and am travelling alone ( male). I need some suggestions and help from people who have been there . My real destination is Leon, the second major city . What is there to do during that time of year and how to hook up with Nicaraguans for fun time ? Thanks to all .
