Doing a trip throughout western Europe and Czech. Basically I'm torn b/t a regional pass at $375 which gives 11 days. The other is unlimited and costs $634. Right now I have at least 9 days that I will use the pass minimum. There are other side trips that I'm looking at that could ad 3-5 more days and thus have to move up to the next pass. Is it worth the extra money? Thanks

I would go with the safety of having the longer pass. This way your safe- remember each trip can cost 100-200usd if you dont have the pass- so use it the extra 2 times and its paid for itself! I mean if you dont get it and decide to go the extra few days you cant buy them there!

Another option (maybe not the best) is to buy the insurance for 14 bucks- and say you lost the pass if you dont use the extra days. This way you get the extra back!

But that sounds like something up to you.

You mentioned a Regional Pass. What countries are you planning on travelling to? Are you under 26 years old? If you are, you would qualify for a youth pass.

I'm under 26. For the regional, I would get Germany, France, and Benelux and by seperate passes for Brit and Czech.

OK, you are talking about the Eurail Select Pass. What are the other places that you may decide to go to for the 3-5 days? If the tickets are cheaper than what wilson49332 is speaking about, it would be best to purchase the select pass for the three countries. How long are you traveling for? How long do you plan to travel in Britain?

The Czech Republic isn't included in the normal "unlimited" Eurail pass.

If I were you, I'd get the 3 country youth pass for Benelux, Germany and France. Then you can guy an individual ticket to get to the Czech Republic, because I think the only Eurail pass that includes the Czech Republic is the European East Pass. That would be a waste of money for you since you're not going to Austria or Poland.

What may be better in the UK, and may only work if you are there for a while/traveling alot, would be to get a Young Person's Railcard that takes 1/3 off of the ticket price. Think, as low as 13.50 pounds London to Edingburgh. It is 20 pounds. Though if you're only there for a week or so it's not going to be worth it.
