I will be in Europe for New Year's so could you guys suggest good places to be for the New Year's celebration? I was at Vienna last year and that was really good but I'd like to see something different. Thanks!

I spent the past 2 NYEs in Berlin. If you like big open-ended parties, Berlin has it ... over a million people in about a 1 mile stretch that goes from the Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column. They have stands all along the way w/ food, beer, more alcohol, champaign, candy, and a lot more. There are some tents along the way to keep a little warmer, but with that many people there, you're warming than the temperature indicates (usually around 30-35 at that time of year). They have a ferris wheel there (8 Euro for the ride), but pretty cool to get a good look of the monuments around the area while at the top. For more information on the event, known as Silvester in Berlin, visit this site: [link]
