Hi!
I'm looking to spend a few days (no less than 5) in Paris between Feb 23rd and March 2nd. My roommate and I are trying to plan a last minute relatively inexpensive trip to Paris. I've found airfare for about $440 round trip out of Detroit (where we go to school) although we are from Chicago and can fly from there as well. (United it having a sale right now) and hostels in Paris for about $120 per person for 5 nights. Do you know if these are good rates or could you find something better? I want to do cheap but with quality. I'm nervous about hostels because I know some can be horrible.
The two I've been contemplating are Mary's Hotel and Garden Hotel.
Mary's Hotel in located at 15 Rue de Malte. It's about $135 for five nights in a 5 person ensuite and the pictures I've seen on hostels.com and this website make it seem like a decent place to lay my head at night.
Garden Hotel is at 1 Rue de General Blaise and is much cheaper ($118 per person for 5 nights).
Could you give me some insight as to whether you think these may be quality places and if they're in a good locale as far as safety and proximity to touristy attractions.
Any other advice would be helpful as well!
Thanks!
P.S. We want to party it up a little bit although I'm already 21 my roommate is not...so it'd be nice to know if we're around some safe bars. |

First off thank you so much for doing this!!
I need a ticket for just one person as cheap as possible!!!
Dates:
Leaving June 30- July3
Returning July 8-12
I am looking to be gone for a total of 9 days.
I am leaving from Atlanta and trying to fly into Munich...timing is not an issue. Also if there is another airport for cheaper near Austria to fly into instead of munich that would be great.
I only want to spend one day traveling each way so if there is a layover etc. that's fine so long as it doesn't last more than a few hours.
Thanks again!! |

HI,
I want to say first of all that I think that this is a wonderful thing that you are doing and I am very very thinkful for it.
So details:
Leaving May 6th -12th and returning 2 weeks later, ie leave on a Tuesday return on either a Tuesday or a Wednesday. I do have to be back by May 26th.
Flying in to any Paris, France airport, from 2 separate locations. (my friend and I live in different cities and we want to meet and catch the same international flight from whereever to Paris together) The departure cities are St. Louis, MO, and Norfolk, VA.
No carrier preference
Leave anytime during the day (9am or later) but have an overnight international flight. Returing leave some time around Noon, no real preference on the return.
I have done a few searches and the best I get is StudentUniverse NWA for $814.
I don't know if theis matters but I do have an ISIC card, and I work for the Intercontinental Hotels Group (The Holiday Inn).
Thankyou so much

First let me thank you in advance, I really need to get away for a few days, below is your requested info, thanks!!! --Jim
I NEED From You:
-Dates needed
Leaving March 9,10,11 or12
Returning March 17 or sooner, but I'd like to stay for three nights only
-Cities you can fly out of or into (preferred city and ones you can go into/ out of if it is cheap)
Preferred city of departure is Detroit, BUT the cheaper the better and I could leave out of Washington DC or New York City
I just need to get away for a few days, seriously anywhere in Europe will do but ideally I'd like to find a fare around 300.00, so any city that you can find a fare in that area would be great, London, Paris, Prague, Rome, Lusanne it really does not matter to me, its my spring break and I just need a few days to unwind with a minimal budget.
-How flexible you are for all of the above (e.g. dates etc)
-fairly flexible, see above
-Times of flights- (and how flexible those times are)
any time
-Preferred airline carrier
any
-Non-stop if possible or connections (and price you are willing to pay extra if non-stop)
does not matter
-Student status (if you are or not) I am a student
-OK to layover in London then take a low cost carrier from London the rest of the way- e.g. Ryan Air etc.
-layovers are okay but I would prefer not
Thanks again!! |

I hope this offer is still active --
Many, many thanks in advance, this would be a big help in compiling options for travel. Going to school in Italy this summer then doing some travelling afterward --
DATES
leave between June 20th and 25th
return between August 19th and 25th
CITIES
out of - Chicago
into - Florence, Rome, Milan, Frankfurt, Paris, London
FLEXIBILITY
very flexible, willing to consider all options, but must be in italy by June 28th
FLIGHT TIMES
no great concern, overnight/redeye flights are fine
PREFERRED AIRLINE
American Airlines or United Airlines-affiliated carrier, but again very flexible on options
NONSTOP/CONNECTIONS
don't mind connections at all or extended layovers
STUDENT STATUS
current full-time student
LONDON LAYOVER + CONNECTION
absolutely if it is cost-effective |

Hey there,
Thanks in advance for helping me out if you're still doing this!!
I'm looking into an open jaw ticket for the end of June/1st week of July for a three week trip flying out of Las Vegas. I noticed that there are always deals out of JFK or Philadelphia which isn't a problem at all. I can always find great deals out of Vegas into major East Coast cities so if you find deals out of those cities, thats awesome! I plan to fly into Madrid or Barcelona and fly out of any city in Italy. Rome? Venice? Whatever major city you can find, I'll fly out of there.
I am a student and don't care about connections. Also, if you find any deals out of London, I'm interested. Thanks again!! |

Hello. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide - - it is greatly appreciated.
I am flying from Chicago to the general U.K. region and I have never been out of the North American continent, so I don't quite know what is a good price for airfare.
-Dates needed: I need round trip, one week, anything between the dates of August 14-26.
-Cities you can fly out of or into (preferred city and ones you can go into/ out of if it is cheap): preferred - Edinburgh. Surrounding cities- Anywhere in Ireland, England area.
-How flexible you are for all of the above: Dates need to be 7 or 8 days within that bracket in august. As far as locations, that's pretty much it, we may be visiting France, so if something coming into/out of anywhere in France may work as well, but if possible, I'd like to stay within the Ireland/England area.
-Times of flights- doesn't matter
-Preferred airline carrier: doesn't matter
-Non-stop if possible or connections (and price you are willing to pay extra if non-stop): Not willing to pay extra for non-stop, but if we can avoid layovers or connections that last more than 4-6 hours, that would be greatly appreciated.
-Student status: All parties involved are students
-OK to layover in London then take a low cost carrier from London the rest of the way- e.g. Ryan Air etc.: Absolutely, if it is cheaper, I will do it. Everyone that is traveling is on a VERY tight budget, so we are well aware that we get what we pay for, and as long as it gets us safely from point A to point B, it works. |

Hey Wilson, thanks for helping us out.
I am planning on going to Europe at the end of July (apx. July 25) and coming back the first week of september. I will be doing a language school in Spain all of August.
I really dont mind flying into any airport and leaving out another as I am willing to take the train to Spain, hence the few days I will leave before the school sbegins to cover getting there.
Do you have any suggestions of airports to fly into and out of that are cheapest? I was thinking LHR since that appears to be a major hub, but let me know. thanks! |

| Hey If you have time I am looking for a good fare to Europe. In specific to either London, Paris, Italy or Germany. I need to depart either June 7th or 8th. Due to the fact i must meet so people in Frankfort on the 9th. I live in Louisiana so any airport within a reasonable driving distance would be good (reasonable driving distance..100 miles). I would need to leave Europe (preferablly germany or Italy) on July 14th. I cant be flexable with the dae because Im meeting my class in Frankfort on June 9th. Times and flight carrier i will trust to you. I am a student and I do not mind lay overs.. I actually perfer it if it will save a few bucks. I dont mind stopping in London either to catch the other flight you talked about in the fourm. Thank you for you time... This is a great thing your doing and keep up the good work. |

Wilson- many, many thanks for your assistance. It's very generous of you to donate your time to help us out!
My trip:
Leaving 6/29, 6/30 or 7/1 (prefer 6/30 or 6/29 if at night)
Returning 7/7 or 7/8 (prefer 7/8 )
Sorry- these dates are rather inflexible because I have to get back for school.
Flying out of... NYC [JFK or EWR] or BOS
Flying to... LON [ROUND TRIP]
-Times of flights- The only limitation I have is for 6/29- I would have to take a PM overnight flight from NYC, not BOS.
-Preferred airline carrier- NONE.
-Non-stop if possible or connections- whatever is cheapest.
-Student status- YES
-OK to layover and transfer-- OK to layover in other cities if total trip doesn't exceed 12 hrs. Otherwise, the cheapest either non-stop or 1-stop on same airline is preferred.

If you could please get back to me at your earliest convenience- I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for all your hard work.
So far- studentuniverse's Air India flight for $748 is the cheapest I've found. If you can find anything cheaper- I'll owe you even more gratitude.
Feel free to message me if you have any more questions. Thanks again. |

I just want to thank you in advance for helping out! This will be my first time going to Europe so I do not know much about which international flights are cheaper/reputable/etc. I am studying abroad in Florence, Italy this coming Fall 2007. My program states that I should depart from the US on Tuesday, August 28, but I would even like to get there a day or two in advance (depending on what will give me the better fare). I started to look on a few websites, but I cannot find any flights for under $1000. I would like to find something around $700, but I have a feeling that is not going to be possible. If it is cheaper to fly into a different city and then take alternate transportation (train, etc.) into Florence, I am willing to do that. As for the returning flight, I do not know how to go about doing this. I might go skiing in the Alps and stay in Geneva with some friends until after New Years. I don't know if it's better to just fly out of where I flew into (Florence, etc.) or fly out of another location that is closer to where I will be at the end of my travels. I just want to make sure that the ticket i purchase will allow me to change the returning date and/or location if I need to.
Dates: I am flexible on the departure date as long as I get to Florence by Wed Aug 29, 2007. The returning flight is very flexible because I will probably end up traveling around Europe after my program ends...maybe you can help me decide on what to do for returning.
Cities: Depart-PIT and Arrive-any city (whichever gives the best rate)
Return: (in January) flexible (need to know if there is any kind of ticket that will allow easy switching of dates or locations) and need to end up in Pittsburgh, PA no later than January 9, 2008.
Flexibility: I am not too flexible about the departing city. I live closest to the Pittsburgh International Airport and would much rather just fly out of there instead of spending the gas money to get to Philly (unless you think it's more economical or know a better alternative). Pittsburgh International Airport is mainly my departuring city though. As for where to land, I am flexbile with a layover in London or where ever as long as I am in Florence on/by Wed. August 29, 2007.
Time of Flights: Any time of day will be fine; red eye, etc.
Preferred airline carrier: None prefeered as long as the airline is trustworthy.
Non-Stop or connections: Whatever is available, I don't mind if it's nonstop or not.
Student: Yes, I am a college student!
Ok to layover: Yes! Absolutely fine to layover in London.
Thank you so much for offering to do this! I hope there is ticket that is flexible to fit my needs! Please let me know if what I am trying to do is really hard to accomplish and expensive. I am open to any suggestions! |

-Dates: I was thinking around 5/21 - 7/20. These dates are definitely flexible if the savings would justify the extra living expenses. At least somewhere in the weeks of those 2 dates would be the best.
-Cities: I want to leave from somewhere around the midwest. Des Moines would be the best, but I'm a little flexible if it will save me a lot of money. I will be staying in London, but I have given myself a few weeks to travel before and after I need to be in London, so I can fly into just about anywhere in Europe.
-Times: no preference
-Airline: no preference
-no preference on non-stop flights
-I am a student
-layovers are fine.
Thank you for any help. |

Hi...thanks so much again for the 1000th time =) Me and a bunch of friends are going to croatia in august for a friends wedding Aug. 11th. So i'm pretty flexible on the dates, but I know that is high peak season to travel because I can't find any tickets cheaper than 1000$. My friends a few weeks ago found a super cheap flight from charlotte, NC to munich for 500$$!!! but it was that one night only and i haven't been able to get that lucky.
I want to go for about 2 weeks...no more and as long as it includes the aug 11th. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of aug 8th-21st. i live in miami, but if that means paying a lot less to fly out of another state and flying into a cheaper city in europe...i will do it! any airline, however many stops, and whatever time. i've tried cities like london, munich, madrid, venice...but not one under 1000$...i guess i have to get lucky like my friend and hope to search at just the right time. hope u can find something for me and if u do please e-mail right away. thanks!!!
