Depends on where you are already at in South America. Some countries, like the US, need a visa to enter Brazil. So, if you do not already have the visa, Brazil is out of the question.

I know I need a visa for Brazil, but since I´m a "resident" of Chile it would only take a week or so to get. So besides the whole visa deal, any other suggestions??

If you can get the visa, I would go to Brazil. If you plan on only visiting one region of Brazil, like the area around Rio de Janerio, then it will not be that expensive. If you plan to travel around Brazil, it will be a more expensive trip b/c you will have to fly to get around to location in order to save time. Look into air passes through Varig orTAM. In Brazil, I would suggest going to Foz de Iguazu, Rio, and Salvador.[/url]
