I spent 25 days traveling around Europe in May and the one place where I felt I was on vacation was Interlaken, Switzerland. I didn't feel like I had to go running around seeing things, I could just take in the place.

I'm looking for something similar for during December. I want to be away from big cities and enjoy some winter weather. Suggestions?

:current places I'm considering:
Scotland
Ireland
Wales

Thanks for the help!

You should go back to Interlaken in the Fall/Winter. I was there last October and it was nice to be around the snow. October is the rainy season in Switzerland though.
