| I am going to be studying at the University of Newcastle in Australia for a year. i was wondering what things i shoudl bring that you can get in the US for a good prices such as clothing, body and hair products, and electronics? The reason why is i heard something are very expensive compared to US prices. Also what stuff would be very important to take for a year long trip that i might forget? |

| Electronics were outdated, so get all your digital camera things in the US. Also, shoes were surprisingly expensive. Everthing else was considerable to US prices. |

I didn't think anything was more expensive in Australia compared to the US. It depends on the exchange rate, too.
Make sure all your electronics can accept the higher voltage, and it was easy for me to buy the power cords for my laptop and cell phone once I got there.
The only thing they didn't have that I needed was this special sunscreen that keeps me from breaking out if I get too much sun. But Australia's a sunny place, so don't forget your sun glasses and hats.
Some medicines like Allegra, are called a different name (Telfast) in Australia and offered over the counter.
