Hi there,
I have bought my tickets from some other places and I have not have an issue with SSSS before- SSSS stands for "randomly selected for additional screening" I have been "randomly selected" for aditional screening the last two times I got a ticket from Student Universe. Does it have to do because of AA arilines? or because I am a student and I get the ticket from you guys?
I agree with all the security procedures but it feels akward being in that position everytime I buy a ticket from Student universe |

| This has nothing to do with the ticket and who you purchased it from trust me. Id be willing to bet you were traveling alone, and you are a college student, and a male at that. They tend to pick on single males around our age just because I guess they think we pose a risk. I have had this happen to me using US every time in Charlotte without a ticket from here as well as a single male. (They also tend to pick on people of middle eastern decent as well). I am SOOOO glad they dont do it at Charlotte anymore- most airports are getting the special screening thing that blows puffs of air on you to detect bomb and chemical residues. Trust me- I know its a pain! |

| Buying a ticket from StudentUniverse does not affect if you will be randomly selected for screening. Your chances of being random selected are based partly on your age. To decrease the chances of being selected, you should sign up for every frequent flyer program for all the airlines you plan to ever fly on. I have done this and have not been selected for additional screening for several years and I have travelled to China! Make sure you included your frequent flyer number whenever you buy a ticket. |

Richard,
I work for StudentUniverse, and wanted to chime in as well.
First of all, thanks to the two other posters, their information is correct and appreciated.
Second, as a frequent traveler, and someone sometimes selected for additional screening as well, I can also add that two other factors that commonly come into play:
*The time between booking and flight-last minute purchases are much more likely to receive additional screening
*One-way flights, especially overseas
Otherwise, there's nothing special security-wise about our tickets vs. those purchased anywhere else.
