| Has anyone's life ever changed by going to europe? Has it encompassed you in anyway? I'm a writer looking to expand my mind and would like very much so to travel this wonderful blue sphere and have come to all of you for advice. How much does it usually cost? I want to see as much as possible, what is a good amount of days to spend there? A month is way too long because of work and school commitments so how about 14 days? or even 10? How much is a eurorail? I know planes are faster but I would like to see the countryside for all it's worth. If anyone has had any great experiences please feel free and email me or instant message me and share! Peace and Love---Wes |

Yes, absolutely! I went to Italy for 4 months on a study abroad program and it was sooo much more than I expected. A week there will be great to experience the way of life, but a longer stay will give you the opportunity to really understand what's its like to live there and build relationships with people. I would suggest going to a big touristy city, but also spending a couple days in a smaller town. There's a big difference outside the tourist zoo! Seeing the countryside by train is good, but you don't really get a feel for anything from the train. If you plan on going to a couple countries, get a eurorail pass. Every country out there is very unique (heck every region is unique), and a few days in one will not cut it. Try to concentrate on one. COST for ten days: Airfare $600+, Hotel ($120/day) $1,200.00, Food ($20/day) $200, Train (Eurorail) $100 (depends), Sightseeing ($20/day) $200, Souvenirs $150 = ?

| I backpacked around Spain, stayed in hostels, slept on beaches, etc. and had the absolute time of my life. I was only there for a month but I am defintiely a changed person. I would recommend hostels because you meet incredible people. Also try to talk to as many locals as possible! |
