Trip to Costa Rica. Question, or opinion rather?

I'm somewhat locked into a college tour through EF College Break, and I've decided to book a tour to Costa Rica, which would be the ultimate nature adventure, but I don't think anyone I know will want to go with me, so I'm considering going on my own and hopefully getting to know the other people on the tour. Does this sound reasonable, or does it look like I'm setting myself up for a bad trip.
