| I am doing a study abroad trip from may 18-june 23 but I am staying in Europe and leaving Paris to go back to USA on the 28th. I was thinking of going to switzerland, germany and italy. I want to see Rome but I think I would do that in one or two days during my study abroad term, maybe one some weekend. Then, what pass should I get to see germany and switzerland? Also, what should I check out? |

Am I correct in thinking that you will only have 5 days after the end of your program?
If so, that's not really enough time to see all the places you mentioned. Maybe just pick one?
Also, where is your program located? _________________ In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on.

I was thinking the same thing on the 5 days! That is way too little time- what I am doing is taking one set at a time (I am going to Munich to study abroad). I am doing Rome on a friday/sat/sunday, same with paris etc. We get fridays off sometimes- but all the same u can do it on an overnight train friday night and have all day saturday to tour.
So do I taly during the weekend thing. Then you can do Germany and Swiss during those 5 days- that is reasonable to do Berlin and Munich only.
As to the pass- it depends on where you are at. If you are in France where I think you are then do this. Check out the Eurail Select pass for $250 (youth pass- you would do the 5 day, 3 country youth pass.) It gets you any 5 days in three countries (I would do the France,Germany,Swiss as countries). Otherwise you can do 4 countries and add Italy as a 4th country and get the 6+ day pass for the trip to Rome earlier in the summer- (the weekend travel). But I would actually do that with a cheap air carrier- save some money and valuable time! Hope that helps! |
