|
|
i am going to bring my laptop for 2 reasons. For my camera so i can load my pictures on quickly and just keep snapping away without worry of not having enough space.
And also so i can keep in touch with my family and friends while i am gone for a month.
Is their wireless internet cafes or something that allow my laptop to get internet or in the hostels can you hook up a laptop for internet? |

This really depends on where you are in Europe. France is pretty behind and is hard to get internet, however Germany is excellent as is the UK. Italy depends on the city. But some of the newer hostels have wireless internet, if not there are plenty of hot spots around- worst comes you can find any expensive hotel downtown and steal theres!! But most hostels do have internet free all the same so if they dont have wireless, they have internet to use to talk with the family, and then use the laptop for the pictures.
DONT forget your wall adaptor for the European plug. You may wish to look into insurance as well as laptops are the most stolen things in Europe IMO. |

Almost all Starbucks I've seen, and they are everywhere, have wireless internet. Failing that, Costa Coffee is another chain that might have internet, though I don't know how widespread they are. _________________ In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on.

From prowling around jourlist and such sites there are a few things that might help you.
If you have a large camera (ie an SLR not a little digital) cover up brand names so it's not obvious, and make the laptop 'ugly'. Put stickers on it, something so that it's not all shiney and new.
Don't know if any of that helps. _________________ In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on.
